    Our client in Mansfield, Texas, is currently seeking a CHEMICAL PROCESS TECHNICIAN for their plating operations.  The primary responsibility of the Chemical Technician is the daily analysis and control of the chemistries utilized in production plant processes. 

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Daily analysis of and control of all chemistries utilized in production plant processes, including chemical analysis of plating baths & cleaning solutions.
    • Maintain/facilitate continuous communication with Chemical Process Engineer and upper management.
    • Maintain cleanliness of lab, glassware & other equipment, general department upkeep, housekeeping, lab inventory, and organization.
    • Report shortages of materials, failure or malfunction of equipment, or when quality of work does not meet expectations to Supervision.
    • Communicate with Technical Manager to ensure the safe handling of the chemical constituents used in the respective areas of the facility.
    • Make chemical additions to plating baths & cleaning solutions in order to maintain chemical concentrations & pH levels.
    • Monitor & control plating tank parameters in order to ensure high-quality plating.
    • Maintain detailed records and logs of all plating related data in process control software.
    • Lead team members on safe chemical handling standards and good manufacturing practices.
    • Participate in quality improvement projects & department audits.
    • Assist in loading production tanks.
    • Knowledge of all Production Department procedures and processes.
    • Any other related duties as assigned by management.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
    • Great attention to detail and well organized.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to have technical discussions with teammates or senior managers.
    • Possess time-management skills as well as the ability to plan & prioritize.
    • Be able to stand for long periods of time and/or work an extended schedule from time to time.
    • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (provided) - including safety shoes at all times.
    • Must be able to read and write English.
    • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
    • Must be capable of: (100-400 times per shift)
    • a. Stooping, climbing, or crouching with some frequency.
    • b. Repetitive movements (grasping, pushing, and pulling).
    • Must be able to visually inspect the quality of plating on the parts and make adjustments as needed.
    • Read and understand SDS's and hazardous labels on chemical containers.
    • Ability to drive a forklift is a plus.
    • Reliable attendance and punctuality are a must.
    • Ability to work overtime and weekends, as needed.
    • Understand chemistry concepts including pH, acidity, alkalinity, concentration, & solubility.
    • Ability to accurately perform titrations, pH measurements & other basic chemical testing.
    • Ability to follow the principles of safe work practices and adhere to procedures.
    • Must be capable of basic mathematical calculations using a calculator.

    EDUCATION Associate degree in chemistry or other technical degree preferred but equivalent chemical analysis or lab experience acceptable.
