    Our client is an established and highly respected founder-led firm with a portfolio powered by mission-driven businesses focused on education. This leading organization is currently seeking a talented and experienced VICE PRESIDENT to support the main decision-makers, (both Founder and Executive Chairman/Managing Partner) in leading the organization's strategic business initiatives. This position, while based in Dallas, could travel internationally 25% of the time. This member of the leadership team will provide value in a variety of areas such as strategy, investments, mergers and acquisitions, operations, business development and other special projects as required. 

    Fundamentally to be successful in this role, our ideal candidate will have a depth of expertise in general business and/or other major business functions such as finance, operations, strategy, mergers and acquisitions, etc. The ideal candidate has a demonstrated track record of success, copes well with change and ambiguity, has a bias for action and is intrinsically motivated, reliable and proactive, possesses hunger for learning, communicates effectively, and shows a strong commitment to excellence by going above and beyond in his/her duties. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES 

    Strategy – 

    • Assist in the development and/or implementation of business strategy to complement business direction and long-term planning of the business. 
    • Identify opportunities to expand strategic direction of the organization resulting in efficient execution, profitable growth or market share expansion or growth. 
    • Identify accretive investment opportunities – through mergers and acquisitions – by keeping a pulse on organizations that may enhance and/or expand company's capabilities.

     

    Financial Performance – 

    • Assist founders to ensure effective use of funds and budget, monitoring of metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in alignment with company's strategic direction and plan. 
    • Manage existing business priorities in alignment with profitability and growth objectives. This includes working with the leadership to redefine strategic and tactical initiatives for measured and defined deliverables. 
    • Drive the company to achieve and surpass profitability goals and objectives.

    Operational Results – 

    • Oversee specific projects of international business units by collaborating with their senior leaders. 
    • Understand, track and improve KPIs. 
    • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the growth objectives of the organization.

     

    Business Relationships –

    • Participate in sales and marketing initiatives with an emphasis on growing international footprint and market dominance.

     

    Customer Relationship Management – 

    • The Vice President will not only strengthen existing relationships, but also cultivate relationships of his/her own, leading to the growth of the organization's portfolio and business partnerships.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 

    • Proven experience as a senior leader in multiple business units or functions demonstrated through advanced competency in strategic planning, operations, business development and finance. 
    • Strong aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving. 
    • Experience in higher-education, general business management or M&A preferred.
    • Working knowledge of data analytics and performance/operational metrics.
    • Flexible and highly adaptable; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions. 
    • Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding business strategy toward execution. 
    • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities. 
    • Superb interpersonal and communication skills.

     

    EDUCATION 

    Bachelor's Degree required with 15+ years of business expertise and leadership, strategy, operations and/or business development. Master's degree or above preferred.
