    People Serving People is seeking an Individual Giving Manager to join our organization. This position leads the Development Department’s focus on individual donor fundraising: Prospect, cultivate, and steward long-term relationships built on donors’ philanthropic needs, interests, passions and values. This position leverages key relationships and contacts within the community, in collaboration with People Serving People staff, board of directors, and board committee members to achieve departmental revenue goals and engage individual donors. This role will be responsible for setting the strategy, identifying and soliciting donors and executing fundraising plans to acquire, retain and grow individual donor support.

    Essential Functions of the job:

    Strategically research and understand current and potential supporters’ philanthropic goals and leverage them for support.

    Thoughtfully interact with People Serving People guests and program staff to deeply understand People Serving People’s organizational priorities.

    Develop multi- and year-round individual giving strategies to maintain engagement with a current and long-term portfolio of individual supporters to meet People Serving People’s crisis response, prevention, and systems change programming needs. Lead efforts, development and management of a prospect pool of individuals with annual goals for direct mail, personal visits, phone calls and giving outcomes.

    Plan, implement, and manage a comprehensive giving program for individual gifts, including one-time, event, major, sustainer (monthly), and planned giving donors.

    Assist in developing Development Department annual expenditure and revenue budgets and manage areas of responsibility to meet budget goals.

    Leverage and recommend involvement of the CEO, board of directors, board committee members, and staff to initiate and maintain major donor and prospective major donor relationships.

    Consult in planning events led by the development team and related activities, with an eye to using these engagement opportunities to cultivate current and prospective donors.

    Plan, develop, support, and/or oversee proposals and collateral in support of fundraising initiatives.

    Manage and lead specific fundraising projects pertaining to areas of focus; collaborate with colleagues on donor strategies. Work with directors and peers to stay abreast of operations and programming developments, strategic plans, and financial budgets to align with fundraising goals.

    Track and report relationship management activity using CRM system; create and present reports and analytics about People Serving People’s donors and prospects to staff and board of directors.

    Serve as departments in-house fundraising database expert.

    Evaluate and consider effects of internal and external forces on individual giving, staying abreast of current research and best practices related to People Serving People’s program areas, homelessness, and social services delivery to support requests.

    Represent People Serving People at a variety of annual events.

    Support Development Team with events and other special projects.

    Staff evening and weekend events when needed.

    Other duties assigned and as requested.

    Specific Qualifications:

    Knowledge of and familiarity with Twin Cities philanthropic environment.

    Knowledge of a variety of individual donor programs, including current, sustaining, annual, and deferred giving.

    Knowledge of strategies, tools, and processes used to develop and implement individual giving programs.

    Ability to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward gifts from individual donors, including major gifts.

    Ability to create a variety of written materials to support fundraising efforts.

    Ability to use donor management, marketing, event, and fundraising software to inform fundraising strategy and tactics.

    High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

    Flexible and willing to adapt to change.

    Possesses a strong future-orientation and entrepreneurial mindset.

    Ability to analyze and use data and metrics to shape goals, strategies, and tactics.

    Ability to develop relationships with potential funders and promote engagement.

    Excellent oral and written language skills; ability to represent People Serving People to a variety of audiences in a variety of settings.

    Excellent interpersonal skills and success in working in a collaborative team environment; ability to work with a variety of people internally and externally.

    Proficient in MS Office suite.

    Demonstrated commitment to issues of homelessness, poverty, or social justice.

    Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business or public administration, or related field required.

    Experience Preferred: 3-5 years of experience performing in fundraising, including a strong focus on individual giving.

    Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise development team members, donor relations interns, and volunteers.
