    Educational Services Coordinator and Manager

    Education/Experience Preferred:

    Familiarity with Minneapolis Public Schools, BA, BS or education in Early Childhood, Elementary Ed, Child Development or related field or Child Development credits with Youth Program Experience.

    Hours: 20-25 hours/week

    Flexible hours between 9:00am-6:00pm Monday-Thursday with occasional hours on Friday's. Most likely schedule will be Monday-Thursday ll:00am-4:30pm

    Salary: $16.00/hr.

    General Description:

    The Educational Services Associate is responsible for facilitating and supervising educational and recreational programming for children ages 5-17 at People Serving People. Ability to engage students both individually and as a group in planned activities and curriculum. The Educational Services Associate needs to teach with a philosophy of trauma informed principles and culturally responsive care that is nurturing and supports the development of all ages in the center. Must be able to work and plan in a team setting, with patience, enthusiasm and respect for children, as well as parents and fellow staff.

    Essential Functions of the job:

    Educational Services Associate:

    Lead and facilitate enrichment activities, group games, crafts and other planned curriculum.

    Have an understanding the social-emotional developmental needs of children and the impact of toxic stress and trauma on children and their families.

    Implement and build on the trauma-informed practices built into our organizational philosophy.

    Perform administrative activities as needed to support the program.

    Administers basic first aid and cares for sick children.

    Welcomes, talks with and meets with parents.

    Observes and reports on physical, emotional, intellectual and social development of children.

    Maintains clean classroom appearance by organizing, cleaning, and sanitizing daily.

    Keeps track of any classroom supply needs.

    Participate in Trauma Informed Healing and Cultural Competency trainings.

    Maintains appropriate program records.

    Collaborates with People Serving People and Center of Excellence staff where appropriate.

    Work 1:1 with students needing extra support.

    Performs other duties assigned by the Educational Service Coordinator

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    COMPUTER SKILLS

    Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft applications. Understanding of digital meeting and learning platforms, and the ability to use iPads, tablets, chrome books and their applications.

    OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

    Two or more years of experience serving multi-cultural, socially diverse population desired.

    First Aid and CPR certified or willing to be certified within 30 days of employment.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and taste or smell. The employee must lift and/or move 70 lbs.

    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but can be loud at times
