    Job Description

    This position assists the administrator and school staff in supporting student efforts to manage behavioral and social emotional needs by implementing and supporting behavior management programs

    Duties include:

    • Implement behavior support plans, prescribed behavioral strategies and positive behavior support; model conversation, listening, and everyday prosocial interactions.
    • Provide frequent monitoring of students on assigned caseload, with accompanying positive reinforcement and feedback.
    • Implementing Check-In/Check-Out (CICO) at the start and end of the school day, including Positive Approach to Student Support.
    • Assist in delivering social emotional instruction to students.
    • De-escalate students and provide targeted self-regulation supports for recovery to baseline.
    • Supervise student breaks, implement sensory supports and movement activities.
    • Assist behavior team with collecting data for functional behavior assessments by recording student behavioral progress and daily behavior data.
    • Assist students with building self-monitoring skills.
    • Implement strategies for working with students that align with their individual plans or protocols.
    • Intervene in potential conflicts utilizing appropriate behavioral approaches for the purpose of diffusing confrontations and minimizing disruptions.
    • Intervene in crisis situations and assist in developing and implementing appropriate positive behavior support strategies.
    • Interact with staff to assist in the planning, implementation and review of the student's positive behavior support plan and safety plan.
    • Provide assistance to students with intensive behaviors in acquiring skills in the area of communication and language development, behavior and social skills.
    • Supervise assigned students in and out of the classroom.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma
    • Strong knowledge in math and reading demonstrated by at least one of the following:
      • one or more years of documented experience as an instructional aide
      • two years or more of college education
      • one or more years of relevant career experience within the last three years
      • passing score on the ParaPro Assessment
    • Experience working with youth
    • Experience in special education (preferred)
    • MANDT/CPI/OIS training (preferred)

    Additional Information

    Salary: Starting at $17.50/hour

    Hours: approximately 7 hours per day on all school days.

    Start Date: ASAP
