    ONE OF THE BEST MULTI-UNIT REGIONAL MANAGEMENT POSITIONS AVAILABLE IN CANADA TODAY! Our client, a Canadian multi unit retailer, seeks to engage a Regional Manager to direct, lead and inspire its retail store teams in British Columbia - an area growing in population and store count. Take overall responsibility for sales, profit, customer satisfaction, staff motivation and staff development. A background in specialty chains and/or department stores would be ideal. This is a senior level role. Compensation is very competitive.

    To qualify for this role, you must have extensive experience in multi-unit ladies fashion apparel retailing, an understanding of the latest fashion trends, a commitment to coaching and developing successful store teams, and a strong conviction to exemplary customer service and growth in sales. You recognize excellence in visual merchandising and know how to generate a positive store morale and make the corporate brand you represent a desirable place to work.

    To be successful as a Regional Manager, you must be able to translate theory into action and you must be able to describe your challenges in leading and coaching a retail team, serving a fashion clientele and growing sales. Desiring a career in retail fashion regional management and aspiring to work for the best in the business are key drivers for success in this role.     RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Financial: Take financial responsibility for the district focusing on budgets, sales, gross margin, store profitability, shrinkage and inventory turnover.

    Operations: Focus on mandatory operational deliverables: customer service, readiness for business, planogram integrity, store signage, housekeeping and maintenance.

    Merchandising: Ensure merchandising reflects corporate objectives and local market conditions. Ensure corporate marketing initiatives are properly executed at store level.

    Loss Prevention: Complete store audits on a rotational basis. Focus on all areas affecting shrinkage and loss. Store visits: Conducts regular store visits, assess store needs and develop action plans covering all operational and marketing areas.

    Staffing: Oversee the work of direct reports; do performance reports; provide regular feedback; ensure plans are in place to shore up performance short-falls; build an outstanding management team; hire and terminate accordingly. Coach and develop management and staff.

    Leadership: Motivate and inspire staff to take action to achieve the desired outcomes. Ensure that there is a good two way communications to, from and within each store. Build relationships internally and externally to foster area growth and development. Seek appropriate corporate approval where required. Reinforce corporate objectives and blend with district needs.

    Clienteling: Reinforce and direct the focus on clienteling in the company's British Columbia stores.

    Positive Morale: Build a positive morale through two way communication that incorporates an open dialogue, harnesses and acts on good ideas, deals with organizational issues before they root and demonstrates a solutions mentality that that helps drive the organization forward.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Documentation enabling you to work in Canada - Canadian Citizen; dual Canadian and US Citizen, Canadian Permanenet Residency, a Canadian Work Permit.

    Preference is for a minimum 5 to 10 years of retail multi-unit management experience.

    Background within specialty retail chains or department stores.

    Experience with mid to high end ladies fashion merchandise.

    Experience with clienteling as a sales and customer development strategy.

    The ability to clearly demonstrate how clienteling was executed in the stores you managed.

    College degree preferably in retail or business management.

    Strong knowledge of store operations and procedures.

    Strong leadership and motivational skills – team building, coaching and staff development.

    Able to direct and foster clienteling as a strategic thrust.

    Familiar with latest developments in retail technology.

    Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

    Strong business acumen, planning and analytical skills; developed computer skills.

    An "out of the box thinker" (an use an old cliché but this is the type of person we are looking for).

    COMPENSATION:

    Salary is commensurate with experience and very competitive. Bonus and benefits. Six figures - all in.
