About this Role:
Imagineeer is seeking an experienced HCM Configuration Specialist to support our clients in implementing, customizing, and optimizing PeopleSoft applications. This role is essential for configuring modules to meet specific business requirements while adhering to system best practices and standards. The ideal candidate possesses deep functional knowledge of HCM applications, strong configuration expertise, and excellent problem-solving abilities. This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
Configure HCM modules (e.g. Peoplesoft, Workday, Oracle HCM) and components to meet specific business requirements and workflows
Analyze business processes and translate requirements into effective HCM configurations
Design and implement setup tables, business rules, workflow processes, and security configurations
Create and maintain setup and configuration documentation including business process procedures
Perform fit-gap analysis to identify standard functionality vs. customization needs
Configure and test integrations between HCM modules and with external systems
Support data conversion activities by defining mapping requirements and validation rules
Develop test scenarios and conduct system testing to validate configurations
Troubleshoot configuration issues and implement appropriate solutions
Provide knowledge transfer and training to end users on configured functionality
Support system upgrades and patches by analyzing impact on existing configurations
Implement best practices for HCM configurations and setups
Create functional specifications for customizations when required
Provide post-implementation support for configuration-related issues
Stay current with HCM updates and new functionality to recommend improvements
Qualifications and Skills:
U.S. Citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, HR Systems, Finance, or related field.
5+ years of experience configuring and supporting HCM, Financials, or Self-Service modules.
Hands-on experience with PeopleSoft Core HR, Payroll, Benefits, Time & Labor, Position Management, or Security modules.
Experience with PeopleSoft tools including PeopleTools, Query, Application Designer, and Workflow Designer.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to interact with federal stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced federal environment.
Experience working in federal HR or financial environments, preferably HHS.
Familiarity with PeopleSoft 9.2 and PeopleTools 8.57+.
Knowledge of integration with third-party systems and workflow automation.
Experience supporting PeopleSoft image updates, patches, or upgrades.
Certifications such as Oracle PeopleSoft HCM, Financials, or PeopleTools.
Experience with ServiceNow or Jira ticketing systems.
Desired Skills:
Experience configuring HCM platforms (Oracle Fusion, Workday, PeopleSoft) for federal agencies
Proficient in cross-module integration across Time, Absence, Payroll, Talent, and Core HR
Familiarity with federal HR, financial, and procurement compliance requirements
Skilled in UI configuration (e.g., Fluid UI in PeopleSoft) and mobile enablement
Hands-on experience with cloud deployments and data conversion strategies
Working knowledge of platform-specific tools (e.g., PeopleTools, Workday Studio, Oracle HDL)
Experience with testing frameworks and automation (e.g., PeopleSoft Testing Framework)
Understanding of HCM security models and compliance best practices
Technical certifications in PeopleSoft or equivalent HCM platforms
Experience implementing search and reporting enhancements (e.g., Elasticsearch in PeopleSoft)
Understanding of Section 508 accessibility requirements
Experience with performance tuning through configuration optimization
