    Job Summary:

    The Construction Accounts Payable professional is responsible for processing and managing all financial transactions related to the construction company's expenses. This includes handling invoices, bills, and payments to suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Invoice Processing: Receive, review, and process invoices from various suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors in a timely and accurate manner.

    Data Entry: Accurately enter financial data into the company's accounting software, ensuring that all transactions are properly recorded.

    Vendor Management: Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and vendors, address inquiries, and resolve discrepancies in billing or payments.

    Payment Processing: Prepare and process payments, including checks, electronic transfers, and credit card payments, ensuring compliance with payment terms and agreements.

    Expense Tracking: Monitor and track company expenses, including tracking recurring payments, managing utility bills, and ensuring adherence to budget constraints.

    Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts payable transactions with general ledger accounts and resolve any discrepancies.

    Documentation: Maintain organized and accurate records of all accounts payable transactions, invoices, and receipts.

    Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations.

    Reporting: Generate regular and ad-hoc financial reports for management, highlighting trends and providing insights on accounts payable performance.

    Month-End and Year-End Closing: Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including account analysis and financial statement preparation.

    Qualifications:

    Education: A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications, such as Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP), can be advantageous.

    Experience: Prior experience in accounts payable, preferably in the construction industry, is highly desirable. Familiarity with construction-related expenses and subcontractor payment processes is a plus.

    Software Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle), spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel), and document management tools.

    Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in processing invoices and payments.

    Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to interact with vendors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.

    Time Management: Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

    Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide meaningful insights.

    Integrity: High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of financial information.
