    Be part of a key group supporting a government agency’s mission and act a trusted advisor in development programs. Review and advise on Future Systems Technical Requirements and evaluate against future warfighter needs and modern threats. Leverage Cybersecurity/Cyber engineering expertise to advise on evolving design choices. Contribute to the development and architecting of system capabilities.

    The Information System Security Officer (ISSO) ensures that the appropriate operational security posture is maintained for a system and as such, works in close collaboration with the information system owner, Security Engineering, and various stakeholders. The ISSO serves as a principal advisor on all matters, technical and otherwise, involving the security of the system. ISSO candidates will have the detailed knowledge and expertise required to manage the security aspects of the system and the day-to-day security operations of an integrated, interagency developed system.

    Responsibilities/Duties:

    Candidate shall support the design, integration, testing, and maintenance of the developed system. Ensure that the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process is integrated into each level of the system life cycle development. Ensure that cybersecurity requirements are allocated to the system design. Have a working knowledge of how Security Technical Implementation Guides are implemented into the overall system security posture. Work with stakeholders to ensure that cybersecurity requirements are allocated to the system design. Research approved software and hardware products to be used in association with system support requirements, including verification testing against the engineering design, and related activities to validate the compliance of cybersecurity requirements. Develop assessment and authorization artifacts for the system.

    The individual shall develop and present required cybersecurity briefs to support System Engineering and Technical Review (SETR) events (System Requirements Review, Preliminary Design Review, Detailed Design Review, and Test Readiness.  Coordinate test events with authorizing assessors and program testteams. Develop schedules for cybersecurity activities and work with scheduling lead to incorporate into the program Integrated Master Schedule. Individual must be able to work with a team in a supportive professional manner. The individual shall support information system security meetings, teleconferences, etc., at government and contractor sites.

    Daily working knowledge of the Risk Management Framework process and workflows. Working knowledge of National Institute Standards and Technology (NIST)

    Degree Requirements:

    Associates Degree in Cybersecurity or cybersecurity related field or four years of equivalent Cybersecurity experience

    BS Degree in Engineering or related field

    MS Degree in Engineering or related field

    PhD Degree in Engineering or related field
