Benhaven Driving Department is seeking 2 Per Diem Van Drivers to cover for when Full-time Van Drivers are off. This is a non-exempt unionized position. The Drivers will report directly to the Driver Supervisor. The ideal candidates must have V-Endorsement and be flexible. Van Drivers are expected to drive in the North Haven, Wallingford and other surrounding areas.

Responsibilities:

The following duties are assigned to this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

• Drive students to and from school daily.
• Provide transportation for schools for recreational activities as needed throughout the day in the Wallingford area.
• Keep assigned vehicle clean and tidy.
• Complete pre-trip inspection of assigned vehicle.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
• Make sure all endorsements and licensures are up to date per agency policies & requirements.
• Attend all required trainings per agency and state policies & requirements.
• Follow all agency Policies & Procedures.

Position Requirements :

• ‘V’ Endorsement is required
• Flexibility
• Clean Driver’s record
• Able to pass a DOT physical
• Able to pass a variety of background checks
