    AP Accountant – Hybrid - Petaluma

    This accounting/finance position is in need of a team player who loves collaborating as much working independently. Working a hybrid schedule - 3 days remote, 2 days onsite - you will enjoy ongoing communication with your colleagues as this five person team jumps in to help each other out with questions, issues, and situations that arise throughout the day.

    In this role, you will rely on your solid accounts payable and reconciliation skills, owning the vendor payable process, ensuring all is paid timely, accurately and coded correctly. You will also have an oversight role with company payables. Strong attention to detail, tech savvy and the ability to excel in a fast paced environment round out your top skills.

    You will:

    • Drive key aspects of the AP functions, including timely invoice processing, vendor payment processing, client refunds, direct bill commissions, outside broker commissions, 1099 processing, etc.
    • Lead the timely and accurate reconciliation of bank statements, ensuring discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly.
    • Assist in identifying and executing operational inefficiencies and process gaps, communicating with management to implement solutions to improve workflow and increase productivity.
    • Review the work performed by the offshore team to ensure accuracy and compliance.
    • Interact and communicate effectively with the offshore team to delegate tasks and provide guidance.
    • Be a role model for the finance team, embodying the organization’s values and promoting a culture of excellence, integrity, and accountability.
    • Assist in ad-hoc finance team projects.

    You have:

    • Bachelors’ degree of equivalent in accounting or finance.
    • 3-5 years’ experience in accounting/finance.
    • Ability to work in a fast paced team environment with quick turnaround times.
    • Insurance related background a plus
    • Strong technology skills with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

    Hybrid schedule with 3 days remote and 2 days onsite.

    Hire contingent upon passing background check.

    $75-$85K
