Performance Drone Works (PDW) is a world leader in custom small unmanned aerial systems (SUAS) development that focuses specifically on cutting-edge solutions for the modern warfighter. An American owned company where all PDW design, engineering, and manufacturing of PDW products are domestically based.
PDW is looking for an experienced supply chain manager motivated to take ownership of our fast-growing supplier base. Our ideal hire has the competency to establish industry best practices managing our vendor partners. The role will develop and implement an integrated logistics and supply chain network to support PDW’s product lines and procurement needs. Key responsibilities will include analyzing economical and efficient procurement and transportation methods, achieving cost savings through selection of strategic partners, and ensuring the stability of PDW procurement efforts and timelines.
This role will need experience in small scale and batch production, automated inventory management, transport and distribution, and experience with predictive supply chain processes to anticipate and mitigate risks with component shortages or quality assurance issues. Strong candidates for this role will have excellent leadership skills and the ability to work with a cross-functional team. We need someone willing to roll up their sleeves and contribute individually as the company grows.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for all processes related to the acquisition of product inventory, replacement components, and inventory management.
- Responsible for supplier qualification, maintenance of supplier relations, OEM maintenance, parts compliance, warehousing, price negotiations.
- Manages purchasing to optimize spend vs. inventory levels to achieve target “on the shelf” quantities and delivery times quoted to customers.
- Responsible for establishing and monitoring quality assurance for receiving.
- Evaluates labor, equipment, budget, and inventory in conjunction with PDW program and project leads
- Negotiates terms, conditions, rates and classifications with logistical carriers, 3PLs, and other partners
- Ensures compliance with DFAR, ITAR, import/export documentation and regulations, and other regulatory considerations for procurement or product distribution pertaining to doing business with the Dept of Defense and federal government.
- Designs and maintains logistics strategies for program support including shipping materials and products to and from PDW fabrication and customers
- Responsible for the planning logistical and supply management strategies to support PDW’s growing customer base and special projects as they arise
- Monitors spend across procurement partnerships and maintains a level of constant analysis to achieve greater cost savings while maintaining quality.
- Management of claims with suppliers/vendors for loss or damage to goods and maintains record of goods successfully received and inventoried by customers
- Ensures materials, parts, and assemblies are stored and maintained in a safe and compliant manner
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree related to Supply Chain Management and/or Contracts Management
- Minimum 5 years of experience of Supply Chain Management with (3) years supervisory experience
- Experience managing obsolescence program, to include OEM and vendor interaction, coordination, tracking and software tools
- Experience with government contracting and requirements related to procurement and product fulfillment
- Experienced negotiator including processes for solicitation, evaluation, and negotiation
- Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with both customers and suppliers
- Skilled in hazmat procedures, material safety data requirements, and management of handling, process, store and ship in accordance with company and OSHA specifications
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledgeable in manufacturing and quality assurance process
- Experience with subcontracts negotiation
- Understanding of FAR and/or DFAR
- MMAS experience
- Experience with inventory management systems
- Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance
