    Job Description

    COMPANY OVERVIEW:

    Perishable Sales, Inc. is a Retail Food Broker in the IL/WI/IN market representing many regional and national brands. As a liaison between manufacturers and retail customers, we service both of their needs for overall business growth. Our company's primary role is to grow a manufacturer’s sales in dollars and volume.

    Perishable Sales, Inc. is seeking a qualified individual to join our internal office team as a Customer Service/Commission & Collections Representative reporting to our Office Manager. Applicant will be working directly with manufacturers that we represent, the customers (grocery stores and distributors), and our internal team therefore, excellent communication and accuracy are essential.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    CUSTOMER SERVICE (70%)

    • Provide excellent, timely, accurate, and professional customer service

    • Receive and accurately enter purchase orders/invoices in our order entry system (MCS)

    • Resolve any client production and/or freight issues

    • Communicate to customers and manufacturers any changes to a purchase order

    • Maintain and load all data (new items, promotions, cost changes, etc.) for clients/customers in order entry system

    • Resolve issues and manage the day-to-day transactions for assigned accounts

    • File paperwork in the appropriate area

    COMMISSION & COLLECTIONS (30%)

    • Receive and accurately reconcile commission payments in our system (MCS) ensuring commissions paid match to contract

    • Resolve any pricing discrepancies

    • Accountable for ensuring all assigned accounts are reconciled monthly and are current on receivables

    • Generate and distribute invoices on open receivables due

    • Responsible for follow-up with clients to ensure on-time payments & overall accuracy

    • Communicate openly with clients, customers, and internal sales department to resolve inquires

    • File paperwork in the appropriate area

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

    · Must possess excellent organization skills and have a proven track record of meeting deadlines. Quick turnaround times can often be expected.

    · Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    · Must be self-motivated, can multi-task, and have excellent work ethic

    · Must be attentive to detail and accurate, well-organized, and dependable

    · Must be a quick problem solver, fast learner, and have strong follow up skills

    · Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with peers, sales group and management teams

    · Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

    · Must be computer literate with a high degree of proficiency in Windows and related software applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, database management, client/customer portals, etc.

    · Must be able to operate a calculator, computer, printer, fax machine, telephone and copy machine

    · *Prior experience with a broker/manufacturer a plus
