    Actively Recruiting - Manager, International Logistics Operations - Immediate Need

    We are an executive search and advisory firm in the logistics industry and are working with one of our oldest clients to identify an experienced Manager to oversee their Ocean & Air Logistics Operations.

    Client Overview:

    Our client is a leading logistics company serving the needs of retailers and consumer product manufacturers for over 40+ years. During this time, they have pioneered many of the logistics services that become the industry standard today.

    The Manager will be responsible for a team of 4 overseeing the operations for the International Freight Forwarding Division. Most products are being imported from Asia into the US via ocean or air, so knowledge of both is key to success in the role.

    This is a hands-on working Manager’s position and will require constant communication with clients and will have ownership of several Key Apparel & Manufacturing Account relationships.

    Individual Contributor Responsibilities and Team Oversight will include:

    • Ensuring proper response time of email communication with Overseas Partners (Origins) for booking and receiving clients for approval

    • Tracking and tracing all steamship for arrivals

    • Upon pre-alert receipt from the Origins will create files, assign reference numbers, and see through to completion

    • Manage the entry of shipment data into the system and issue AP/AR

    • Coordinate product with Custom brokers and transportation/trucking companies for clearance and delivery activities

    • Secure transportation costs for the internal Sales Team, External clients, and Origins

    • Be aware of all account and team activities to ensure a proactive approach to problem resolution

    Key Experiences Required:

    • 3-4 years of demonstrated experience in international freight forwarding businesses. Air & Ocean preferred

    • 2+ years experience at the Supervisory level

    • 1-2 years import specific experience; Asia to the US preferred

    • Excellent Communications skills; with above-average email etiquette as this position involves constant email correspondence in addition to phone communications

    • Must be able to multi-task to address shifting priorities and escalations coupled with the ability to work under pressure

    • Strong technical skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly.

    • Above-average Excel proficiency

    • Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Logistics or similar preferred

    • Excellent command of the English language; ability to speak other languages a plus
