Primary duties include but are not limited to:
-Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequenceof operations and set up requirements.
-Selects, aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders and shapers.
-Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
-Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.-Deburrs and cleans final part.
-Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
-Ability to use basic inspection equipment and techniques.
-Ability to read and interpret documents such as basic blueprints and/or operation sheets.
-Basic shop math skills to include the ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
-Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds.
-Must be able to bend, stoop and stand for 8 to 12 hours a day.
