We're Hiring: Personal Assistant to the Owner Location: Southmayd, TX (In-person, with potential for hybrid work later) Job Type: Part-Time (Flexible hours, potential to grow into full-time) Starting Pay: $14/hour
About the Role
Callahan’s Appliance is a family-owned business, and like any family-run operation, we wear a lot of hats — and now we’re ready to hand one of those hats over. We’re looking for our very first Personal Assistant to support the owner and occasionally other family members involved in the business.
This is a brand-new position, and no two days will look exactly the same. Your tasks will range from clear-cut, straightforward assignments to more open-ended projects that require problem-solving and initiative. You’ll also be expected to stay on top of reminders and, when needed, keep the owner on track for meetings he’s convinced are scheduled for another day.
We’re looking for someone who’s organized, flexible, and proactive — someone who can take initiative, stay calm in the unknown, and find ways to be helpful without needing a to-do list handed to them every morning.
What You’ll Be Doing
Personal Support Tasks
Manage schedules, appointments, reminders, and to-do lists
Run errands (groceries, car tags, dry cleaning, etc.)
Book travel or personal appointments as needed
Handle car maintenance coordination
Keep the owner on track — even when his instructions are... circular at best
Business Support Tasks
Make and return phone calls, send emails and texts, and follow up on outstanding tasks
Research and summarize options (vendors, services, business tools, etc.)
Track down missing info and create helpful summaries when decisions need to be made
Help with data entry, appointment scheduling, or light administrative tasks
Run various reports and compile information to be presented
Office Flex Support
Jump in where needed, from organizing supplies to helping with inventory or scheduling
Find ways to be helpful when there’s no immediate task list
Who We're Looking For
Exceptionally organized: you’ll need to bring structure where others may not
Strong with logistics, time management, and consistent follow-through
Comfortable working with vague instructions and figuring things out independently
Patient, composed, and persistent
Professional, reliable, and trustworthy with sensitive information
Confident using email, Google Docs, basic research tools, and desktop communication
Willing and able to run errands, lift up to 50 lbs, and assist with occasional hands-on tasks
Proactive and resourceful- not afraid to ask questions, track down answers, or take initiative
Perks & Possibilities
Flexible part-time schedule
Room to grow
Full-time status may include: Paid Time Off (PTO), health, vision, dental, and life insurance, 401(k), and potentially a company-provided phone and vehicle
Supportive team environment
Training provided
How to Apply
If you’re highly organized, great at multitasking, and looking for a job that’s a little different every day, we’d love to hear from you. Bonus points if you’re the kind of person who can take a half-formed idea and turn it into a finished task list — and then make it happen.
