Position Summary
The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) provides direct support and personal care services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or adults requiring assistance with daily living activities. This position plays an important role in promoting dignity, safety, independence, and person-centered care. 1st and 3rd shift
Responsibilities
Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and meal preparation
Provide companionship and emotional support
Assist with mobility, transfers, and community participation
Monitor health and safety concerns and report changes appropriately
Maintain a clean and safe environment
Complete daily documentation accurately and timely
Follow individualized care plans and agency policies
Provide respectful, person-centered support at all times
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous caregiving, PCA, DSP, or healthcare experience preferred
Compassionate, reliable, and professional attitude
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Must pass background screening requirements
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
Certifications
CPR/First Aid preferred (or willing to obtain)
Medication Aide certification a plus
Schedule
PRN / As Needed
Flexible scheduling available
Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, holidays, or short-notice shifts as needed
