    Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and compassionate One-to-One school-based aide who understands the importance of meeting the needs of students (K-12) while helping them maintain a high quality of life. We are looking for a committed individual who has impeccable communication skills and is able to problem-solve on the spot. This position is CONTRACT

    Job Responsibilities:

    As a One-to-One Aide, you would work with assigned students and be responsible for providing quality care and motivation to individuals, along with maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    Serving as a positive role model, applying approved behavior management techniques designed to encourage appropriate social behavior.

    Utilizing appropriate and approved therapeutic interaction skills, specifically, Building Relationships, Listening, Praising Effectively, Making Requests, and Leading Activities.

    Observing, documenting, and reporting to the appropriate supervisor noticeable changes in an individual's behavior and/or health condition.

    Assisting with class-work and provides supervision during testing. May assist in correcting student papers/tests.

    Personal hygiene, toileting, dressing, and maintaining appearance

    Participate in the implementation of each student’s educational program as outlined in their IEPs and according to the schedule and routine of the classroom program.

    Act as a liaison in communicating with teachers and other intermediate unit or district staff about the ongoing needs of individual students.

    Provide advice and possible solutions to the teacher and other support staff concerning classroom-related issues.

    Document information regarding the students, including needs, strengths, gains, and problems.

    Follow the behavior support plans as provided by the teacher or behavior support staff.

    Supervise and support students during eating activities, gym, outdoor recess, and field trips as needed.

    Provide support to students attending inclusive regular education classes, assisting with modifications as directed by the teachers.

    Qualifications: Must have a High School Diploma / GED and at least six (6) months of experience working with children who have special needs OR have an Associate / Bachelors Degree in Psychology or a behavior-related field.

    Must have up-to-date clearances (from within 90 days of hire) and valid CPR/First-Aid preferred

    Must have a genuine passion for working with students who have special needs.

    Must have reliable transportation.

    Must have exceptional communication skills.

    Schedule:

    Monday to Friday

    No weekends
