Job Summary
As a Personal Care Aide, you will provide compassionate, person-centered support to clients in their homes. You will assist with daily activities, personal care, household tasks, meals, companionship, and other activities that promote the client's health, safety, comfort, and independence.
The ideal candidate is patient, compassionate, dependable, respectful, and committed to providing high-quality care.
Responsibilities
Assist clients with personal hygiene, bathing, grooming, and dressing
Provide assistance with mobility, walking, and prescribed exercises
Prepare meals and snacks according to the client's needs and preferences
Perform light housekeeping and maintain a safe, clean living environment
Provide medication reminders and assistance with medications as permitted by the client's care plan and applicable requirements
Provide companionship and meaningful social interaction
Assist clients with approved errands and community activities
Accompany clients to medical appointments when appropriate
Observe and report changes in a client's condition, needs, or behavior
Follow the client's care plan and all company policies and procedures
Promote client dignity, independence, privacy, and choice.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Personal Care Aide, Caregiver, Home Health Aide, or similar position is preferred but not required
Willingness to complete required training and orientation
Ability to follow care plans, health and safety guidelines, and company policies
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Dependable, patient, and compassionate
Respectful of client privacy, dignity, and individual preferences
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including assisting with mobility and lifting as required
Reliable attendance and a commitment to providing quality care
