    van der Veen, Hartshorn and Levin is a fast-paced and growing law firm seeking a highly motivated Personal Injury Attorney to join our Personal Injury Department. We are an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer that values diversity in our workplace.

    We are looking for an attorney with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience to handle all phases of litigation from inception through trial. Applicants fluent in Spanish is a plus. Additionally, our office offers a competitive salary, full health insurance, 401(k) and profit sharing.

    Requirements

    Job Requirements:

    • Admitted to practice law in the state of Pennsylvania (and New Jersey preferred)
    • 1+ years of experience in personal injury litigation or trial experience in medical malpractice, personal injury, wrongful death, or civil litigation practice areas is needed; or
    • A good understanding of personal injury law/ tort law, medical terminology, wrongful death, civil and family law, and medical malpractice is desired
    • Must be computer proficient
    • Strong legal research and writing abilities.
    • Communicate effectively.

    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

    Responsibilities:

    • Evaluate potential personal injury claims and provide legal advice to prospective clients accordingly that are generated from Needles data base (Needles database experience preferred)
    • Manage a team and communicate effectively with personal injury paralegals, legal assistants, case managers, litigation paralegals, and legal secretary
    • Document and update the status of all case files in the case management system
    • Draft, review, and modify claims, motions, discovery responses, demand letters, pleadings, subpoenas, memorandums, and other legal documents
    • Research case law and premises liability, gather insurance policies, medical expenses, medical records, and other evidence relevant to the case
    • Communicate with clients, expert witnesses, insurance company adjusters, supporting witnesses, and medical providers to gather information
    • Represent the client at hearings, trials, mediations, depositions, and litigation
    • Negotiate suitable agreements and settle on the clients’ behalf when appropriate
    • Oversee and handle personal injury case files from start to finish
