Mike Agruss Law is looking to hire a personal injury litigation lawyer with 3+ years of experience. We are looking for someone who is confident, independent, and a self-starter. The ideal candidate will also be quick, driven, thorough, and self-disciplined. This is a work-from-home position, but you must live in Illinois and be licensed there. Compensation: between your salary, a percentage of every case you settle, and 50% of the fees for all business you bring to the firm, you can expect to make over $120,000 your first year here. However, your total compensation is open-ended 100% in your control. Responsibilities: • Research case law and premises liability, and gather insurance policies, medical expenses, medical records, and other evidence relevant to the case • Converse with clients, expert witnesses, supporting witnesses, insurance company adjusters, and medical providers to gather information • Represent the client at hearings, trials, mediations, depositions, and litigation • Supervise and delegate tasks to the team of legal assistants, personal injury paralegals, case managers, litigation paralegals, and legal secretary • Review, modify, and draft motions, discovery responses, demand letters, pleadings, claims, subpoenas, memorandums, and other legal documents • Record and update the status of all case files in the case management system • Settle on the clients’ behalf when appropriate and negotiate reasonable agreements Qualifications: • A bachelor’s degree and a J.D. degree is required • Excellent negotiation, drafting, research, and communication skills are desired • Proficiency in computers is vital • Experience taking depositions (parties, witnesses, treating physicians, and experts), • Experience with mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences, • Trial experience (first or second chair), Compensation: $120,000+ yearly
