Matz Injury Law, a boutique plaintiff-side personal injury firm based in Southfield, is seeking a full-time on site Pre-Litigation Legal Assistant with 5+ years of experience in personal injury law. We are a client-first firm dedicated to helping individuals who have suffered injuries in motor vehicle accidents. The right candidate will be detail-oriented, empathetic, and experienced in managing pre-litigation casework.

Schedule:

• In office Southfield, MI 48075
• Monday - Friday (9am - 5pm)

Key Responsibilities

• Answer and route calls, return messages, and maintain clear, professional communication
• Serve as a main point of contact for clients: provide updates, gather information, and respond to inquiries
• Draft legal correspondence, letters of representation, request and track medical records and billings from healthcare providers
• Communicate with insurance companies, adjusters, and health providers
• Open and manage claims with auto and health insurers, Medicare, Medicaid, and others
• Verify insurance coverage, policy limits, and benefits
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date digital and physical client files
• Handle confidential information with care
• Collaborate closely with attorneys and legal team on case management
• Knowledge of decedent or conservatorship probate matters is a plus

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in plaintiff-side personal injury law (pre-litigation required)
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Professional and empathetic approach to client interactions
• Handle incoming calls, emails, mail and ensure prompt and professional responses
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook) and WordPerfect
