  • Responsibilities

    The Cartwright Law Firm is seeking a full-time legal assistant/paralegal to join our litigation practice. Application MUST have personal injury litigation experience and personal injury experience in San Francisco and the surrounding counties, and be comfortable referencing local rules for calendaring purposes. This position supports attorneys who practice in personal injury litigation. COMPENSATION: • Based on experience BENEFITS: • Health insurance • Paid time off • Paid Holidays Responsibilities: • Ordering medical and billing records and electronically filing in state and federal courts • Create and proofread pleadings, motions, subpoenas, affidavits, contracts, and papers for case preparation • Consult with expert witnesses, clients, medical professionals, and vendors • Prepare and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests, with precision and attention to detail • Calendar court deadlines for attorneys • Assist attorneys in gathering and organizing evidence, witness statements, and other pertinent information for case preparation • Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are easily accessible and up-to-date • Collaborate with team members to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency within the firm Qualifications: • Experience with legal software, litigation case management, and docketing programs • Organizational and communication skills are necessary for this position • Able to meet demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment • Associate’s degree, or some college is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is necessary • 1-2 years of prior experience in a personal injury law firm as a secretary or administrative assistant ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE • Paralegal Certificate or bachelor’s degree preferred • Proficient computer skills, including Filevine, Clio Grow, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), Adobe, Dropbox, One Legal, Pacer, and other database systems • Highly organized multitasker • Strong time management and written and verbal communication skills • Strong work ethic • Detail-oriented, pride in work, self-starter, self-disciplined • Spanish speaking a bonus Compensation: $60,000 - $750,000 depending on experience
