    Are you an organized, detail-oriented, and experienced personal injury paralegal? You might be an excellent fit for our busy personal injury law firm. You will draft briefs, create legal documents such as affidavits, do legal research for trial preparation, and maintain case files and other critical materials organized and easily accessible. We need someone with experience ordering, reviewing, and summarizing medical materials to produce a factual response to discovery. You will also have expertise assisting with family settlement discussions and mediation in order to prevent litigation. If you want to further your paralegal career, we want to hear from you. Responsibilities: • Give legal assistance at family settlement meetings and mediation so that disputes can be settled without going to court • Produce legal documents, letters, and pleadings such as complaints, interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits under the supervision of a lawyer • Talk with service providers or insurers about possible settlements for liens, bills, and medical expenses • Aid lawyers in preparing for trial by arranging exhibits, witnesses, legal materials, client meetings, and motions • Request, interpret, and summarize medical records to come up with a factual answer to discovery requests This position will work alongside the attorney during all phases of the litigation. The principal responsibility will be assisting the attorney during all phases of litigation, from initial case intake to trial preparation, and settlement Candidates for this position should have experience in case calendaring and management, ordering and reviewing medical records and bills, drafting pleadings and various court documents, including complaints, propounding, and responding to written discovery, and interacting with personal injury clients. • Reviewing cases for missing documentation before filing • Preparing lawsuits and having suits served • Preparing written discovery • Setting up depositions • Notifying clients of obligations and deadlines • Managing the attorney's calendar • Drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery as needed • Filing case pleadings/motions and following up with the court or third-party company • Receive and maintain the attorney’s mail and faxes • Proactively managing personal injury case docket • Facilitating and overseeing the settlement process and payout • Contribute to the improvement of firm processes and systems Qualifications: • Must have strong interpersonal skills and talent for writing and grammar • At least 3-5 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting, preferably specializing in personal injury law • Candidates should possess high-level organizational skills, and time-management skills • Must have completed an ABA-approved paralegal certification program such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor’s degree desired • Completion of a NALA (National Association of Legal Assistants) certification program strongly preferred • Candidates should possess a working knowledge of rules and procedures for the Texas Courts • Minimum of 3 years of paralegal or litigation experience preferred • Excellent organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail • Must have a task organization and prioritization system • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills • Ability to work independently, manage large workloads, and meet deadlines • Self-starter with the ability to prioritize tasks and work with minimal supervision • Understanding of legal software and willingness to learn new programs • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment • Proficient with Microsoft Office • Bilingual in Spanish preferred Compensation: $50,000 - $80,000 yearly

    $50,000-$80,000 per year
