Our team is looking for a detail-oriented and organized Medical Records and Bills Coordinator to join us in ensuring accurate and thorough documentation for our clients' cases. Job Description: The Personal Injury Medical Records and Bills Coordinator will be responsible for managing the collection, organization, and review of medical records and bills related to personal injury claims. This role is critical in ensuring that all medical documentation is accurate and complete, supporting our attorneys in the evaluation and settlement of cases. The ideal candidate will have experience working with medical records and billing, preferably in a legal or healthcare setting, and will be skilled at handling large volumes of detailed information. Responsibilities: • Request, track, and follow up on the collection of medical records, bills, and other healthcare-related documents from providers. • Review and organize medical records and bills, ensuring completeness and accuracy. • Verify billing statements and ensure that all charges are correctly documented. • Maintain detailed records of communication with medical providers and clients regarding documentation status. • Prepare medical records summaries and chronologies for attorney review. • Assist attorneys in evaluating the value of medical expenses for case settlements. • Ensure that medical records and bills are properly filed and documented in the case management system. • Communicate with clients to explain the process of obtaining medical records and ensure they understand their role in the process. • Manage deadlines for obtaining records and ensuring timely responses to requests from insurance companies and other parties. • Work closely with the legal team to prepare case files for settlement negotiations or litigation. Qualifications: • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with medical records and billing, preferably in a personal injury law firm or healthcare setting. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and case management software. • Attention to detail and accuracy in managing medical documentation. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team. • Experience with HIPAA compliance and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive client information. • Paralegal certification or relevant experience is a plus, but not required. Compensation: $45,000 plus a year
