Our legal team needs a diligent, organized, and experienced Personal Injury Pre-Suit Paralegal. You will work in a high-level and rapidly growing plaintiffs' personal injury firm with a heavy emphasis on strategizing with attorneys, coordinating with treating physicians, clients, and insurance adjusters, paying attention to details, and treating each case uniquely to develop necessary evidence to maximize claim value for the client. Work Location: In person Responsibilities: • Organize our case filing systems so that everything is properly categorized and simple to find, as well as perform other administrative tasks as necessary • Request, interpret, and summarize medical records to come up with a factual answer to discovery requests • Create legal pleadings, communications, and documents such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits with the assistance of a lawyer • Aid lawyers in preparing for trial by arranging exhibits, witnesses, legal materials, client meetings, and motions • Resolve disputes without going to court by providing legal representation at family settlement meetings and mediation • Handles new client intakes and questions • Sets up injury claims and subrogation claims • Assists clients with property damage questions and claims • Assists with managing clients' medical appointments and communicates directly with providers • Helps explain the process to clients and answer ongoing questions • Develops case strategy with attorneys & manages clients throughout the claim • Assists clients throughout the medical treatment process • Obtains medical records, bills, and other evidence (i.e. affidavits and lost wages) • Creates medical treatment summaries • Obtains reductions of medical bills • Prepares demand packages • Prepares case for closing • Creates a client closing statement Qualifications: • NALA (National Association of Legal Assistants) certification program completion is strongly preferred • ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor’s degree desired • At least 3-5 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting, preferably specializing in personal injury law • Excellent organizational skills, and time-management skills • Talented verbal communicator and writer • Possesses excellent communication skills • Bilingual (English & Spanish) is preferred • 4+ years of personal injury law experience required • Self-starter with a desire to be an integral part of a growing, very successful team • Working knowledge of e-mail, Outlook, and SharePoint • Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, able to multitask, and work well with the team • Possesses high-level oral and written communication skills • Proactive, can-do Attitude • Proximity to McKinney, TX. This is not a remote job Compensation: $60,000 - $100,000 yearly
