You’ll work closely with agents and internal teams to evaluate risk and support sound underwriting decisions for personal lines products. Responsibilities: Evaluate risk for acceptance, rejection, or modification in compliance with company guidelines and procedures for Homeowners and Personal Auto lines of business. Review and evaluate requests from agents for approval of situations that may fall outside the established underwriting guidelines. Review and evaluate incoming policy change requests. Review and evaluate risk alerts based upon activity and information provided from claim adjusters, and make decisions regarding renewal impact. Review and promptly respond to incoming e-mails, phone calls, and correspondence. Ability to make decisions, follow procedures, follow the letter of authority, and work within the published department service standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: • 2+ years of Personal lines underwriting experience is highly preferred. • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school or equivalent experience preferred. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Excellent attention to detail; ability to multitask and make decisions. • Strong team player. • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills. • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently. • Demonstrated proficient personal computer skills, with working knowledge of Microsoft Suite. • Additional education in insurance or other industry-related coursework is preferred. Interest in pursuing additional education in the insurance industry. • Bilingual abilities (Spanish, Hmong, etc.) a plus. Compensation: $60,000 - $65,000 yearly
