Full Job Description
· Independently manage all aspects of personal injury caseload from beginning to end.
· Communicate with medical facilities/providers to update client's medical treatment, attendance and other special medical procedures.
· Utilization of case management software; Data entry including placing notes into the firm’s client management system; Update case files.
· Keep meticulous records; Develop and implement organized filing systems; Organize and maintain documents in an electronic filing system.
· Order, review, and summarize medical records.
· Ensure all files are organized, complete and ready for demand.
· Screen calls, update clients with status of their case, provided information to medical providers and insurance companies.
· Greet and assist onsite guests with a positive, helpful attitude, providing them with a professional welcome, going above and beyond in the service approach.
· Provide general office support and assistance in completing miscellaneous projects as needed; Light back up reception; Assisting with a variety of administrative tasks, copying/scanning/filing/faxing, and team support.
· Responsible for training new legal secretaries/receptionists, assistants, case managers and paralegals.
· Handle all liens and third-party interests.
· Experienced in Medicare/Medicaid, and private insurance subrogation.
· Investigate facts and research legal issues necessary to determine validity of liens and third-party interests.
· Negotiate liens with medical providers, Medicare, Medicaid and Tri-Care.
· Build and keep good relationships with medical providers and other parties involved.
· Verify account balances, liens and third-party interests.
· Marketing opportunities to promote the law firm, build and maintain referrals; Increase client intake by marketing with local medical/chiropractic and other industry related offices.
· Setting up lunch and dinner meetings with providers and other parties.
The candidate MUST possess the following:
· Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience working as a personal injury paralegal.
· Enjoy working in a collaborative team environment; Able to contribute positively as part of a team, helping with various tasks as required.
· Be a self-sufficient, self-motivated, highly organized multi-tasker who works well in a fast-paced environment; Capacity to work under pressure and prioritize work quickly.
· Desire to learn; The right candidate has opportunities to advance.
Minimum Education/Experience
· Paralegal Certification or equivalent is required.
· Minimum 2 years’ experience working as a personal injury paralegal.
· Fluent in Spanish, both speaking and writing (preferred but not mandatory).
· Efficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
· Medical certifications or training and billing experience a plus.
