You’ll sit at the nerve center of national-security decision-making, shaping the policies that decide who is trusted with America’s most sensitive information. Your work influences every background investigation, adjudication, and continuous evaluation action across the Department of Defense. What You’ll TackleCraft game-changing policy. Draft, refine, and champion personnel-vetting directives that set the standard for the entire DoD.
Drive cross-functional security strategy. Align physical, industrial, information, and personnel security initiatives so that the right people have the right access—nothing more, nothing less.
Advise senior leadership. Brief directors and flag-level officers on risks and emerging threats, then recommend practical fixes that stick.
Supercharge continuous improvement. Evaluate vetting IT systems, pilot new technologies (hello, Trusted Workforce?2.0), and spotlight smarter, faster ways to keep bad actors out.
Lead mission-critical projects. Orchestrate working groups tackling topics from insider-threat mitigation to suicide-prevention policy, keeping every stakeholder on target and on time.
Keep Congress in the loop. Transform complex security data into crisp, compelling responses to lawmakers and the public.
Active TS/SCI clearance (no exceptions).
Bachelor’s degree and 10?+?years mastering DoD or national-level security policy.
Five years at the nerve center of OSD, Joint Staff, or Military-Department HQs, writing and steering personnel-vetting policy.
Fluency in Trusted Workforce?2.0 principles and best practices.
Razor-sharp writing, briefing, and stakeholder-management skills.
SPED certification.
Hands-on know-how with DataBricks, GitLab, Jira, or large-scale Agile/Waterfall programs.
Deep familiarity with DoD acquisition lanes.
