    Applications Support Manager Summary

    The Business Applications Manager is responsible for overseeing core business applications, including but not limited to SharePoint, Dynamics CRM, Workday, Saba and various other applications. This individual will manage the team of contractors and employees that support these applications. This position is also responsible for providing project management, relationship management, contract management and audit support.

     

    Applications Support Manager Responsibilities:

    • Direct the systems analysis, programming and project management activities of enterprise wide core applications and database management systems, non-enterprise and departmental application systems.
    • Provides hands on application and data management support, training, and problem solving for the current suite of operations and production application.
    • Manage Application Support queue by triaging, prioritizing, and assigning incoming tickets, and driving them to closure in a timely and accurate manner
    • Coordinates preventative maintenance activities between vendors, IT and the business, including the installation of service packs, patches, and hot fixes.
    • Manage performance and capacity of application systems and ensure SLAs are met.
    • Manage implementation and introduction to service of new application platforms
    • Responsible for managing projects within business applications, including: analysis; defining requirements; design; development; validation and implementation.
    • Develops and maintains technical knowledge for each of the business application.
    • Participating in projects to map existing processes; lead the definition/documentation of the to-be processes; define/document tool requirements, data changes, business rules, metrics, and training to achieve “to be” process.
    • Interact with business owners and IT Teams (Data Warehouse, EDI, Web, SQL) to ensure the system solutions meet the functional requirements.

     

    Applications Support Manager Qualifications

    • Extensive experience supporting Enterprise Business Applications
    • Experience recruiting, training, and managing a support team
    • Proven track record as a motivational manager and a team leader/player.
    • Familiarity working with production SQL databases, queries and reporting solutions.
    • Experience with any of the following applications is a huge plus: Dynamics CRM, K2 Workflows, JDE, SQL Server, Custom .Net Apps, Workday, Saba, Concur, Clickbaording, other SaaS apps.
    • Knowledge of ITIL
    • Ability to function effectively in a fast paced, team oriented work environment
    • Strong technical, analytical and communication skills (listening, written, and verbal)
    • Displays tactful, mature and professional demeanor with well developed interpersonal skills including the ability to work with diverse personnel
