    Application Support Analyst Summary

    The Application Support Analyst is responsible for supporting core business applications. In addition, this position is also responsible for providing testing, documentation, and configuration of the applications as well as vendor and customer support.

     

    Application Support Analyst Responsibilities

    • Provide hands on application support for assigned business applications.
    • Develop and maintain technical knowledge for each of the assigned applications.
    • Interact with Users at all levels of the organization as well as vendors and customers, as needed, to support the applications.
    • Analyze, troubleshoot, and document User support tickets, and drive them to closure in a timely manner following ITSM processes.
    • Actively monitor and research application error handling, and escalate problems using defined escalation procedures.
    • Proactively monitor application performance, as well as upcoming changes to the environment that may have an impact on business applications.
    • Utilize knowledge of SQL to analyze data and extract reports.
    • Participate in release and change management activities including QA testing, documentation, and deployment of applications.
    • Partner with business analysts, end users, vendors, and customers to assist in user acceptance testing.
    • Provide application training to end users, as needed.

       

     

    Application Support Analyst Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree with a major in Computer Science or Management Information Systems, or equivalent.
    • 2+ years of experience supporting and testing custom and third party applications.
    • Strong SQL experience
    • Systems integration knowledge between supported applications and varied targets.
    • Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational, and planning skills.
    • Proven ability to quickly learn new applications, processes, and procedures.
    • Help Desk and ITIL experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of JD Edwards not required, but preferred.
    • Flexibility to quickly adapt to change.
    • Ability to function effectively in a fast paced, team oriented work environment.
    • Experience in directly supporting Business Applications including financial ERP.
    • Strong troubleshooting capability.
    • A positive attitude and desire to make an impact on an organization.
    • Strong time management skills and multi-tasking abilities.
    • Strong communication skills (listening, written, and verbal).
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
    • Experience web-based applications preferred.
