    BI Developer / DBA Summary:

    The BI Developer / DBAis responsible for administering and troubleshooting database and ETL integration systems for all enterprise applications, operational data store and data warehouse. Responsibilities will include database and ETL Package development, database maintenance and backups, and database performance optimization. This position will be working with a data architect lead who will set strategic goals but daily tasks must be self-managed. This role requires cross-functional work with Application Support, BI and Integration Teams, as well as working directly with internal users when needed.

    BI Developer / DBA Primary Job Functions:

    • Supporting incident/service requests involving database performance, integrity and integration issues
    • Developing simple data models and integration packages to populate them
    • Importing/Exporting data from on-premise to Cloud/SAAS (Software As A Service) Systems
    • Develop ETL Packages using ETL tools such as WhereScape and MS SSIS to automate the flow of data from OLTP Systems into the Data Warehouse
    • Install and configure new SQL Servers and apply service packs and cumulative updates to production and non-production environments
    • Responsible for production and non-production databases including backups and recovery, database consistency and index maintenance
    • Configure SQL Server monitoring utilities to minimize false alarms
    • Review and Deploy database scripts provided by application development teams and third party vendors

    BI Developer / DBA Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or Accounting
    • 3+ years’ experience managing, supporting and developing database and ETL systems for a multi-platform application portfolio.
    • Experience with and knowledge of data modeling of both normalized and de-normalized databases.
    • Experience administering databases including index optimization, scheduling and restoring backups, and monitoring disk/memory requirements and utilization.
    • Experience with producing data schema diagrams from existing database structures.
    • Experience in designing and developing production SQL databases and ETL packages.
    • Experience with resolving data quality and other data integration issues.
