PestMaster of South Charlotte is a locally and veteran-owned startup. We are seeking a North Carolina Structural Pest Control & Pesticide Licensee —ideally a retired, semi-retired or professional pest control technician with decades of industry experience—to join us as a foundational team member.
You won't just be running routes; you will be the lead technician who trains the owner and helps establish our technical standards. If you are looking for a way to stay active in the industry without the typical high-volume grind, this role offers the perfect balance of leadership, mentorship, and business development. As we grow, so will you.
Why This Role is Different
Mentor-First Culture: We prioritize your knowledge and teaching ability over stop counts.
Legacy Impact: Help build the culture of a new veteran-owned business from day one.
Full Licensing Support: If your license is currently inactive but in good standing with the NCDA&CS, we will cover all costs for reactivation and transfer.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Mentorship: Provide hands-on field training to the owner and future staff on application techniques, pest control, and safety.
Sales & Growth: Sell additional services and general pest protection through warm leads, cold-calls, and onsite visits to residential and commercial properties.
Inspections & Proposals: Conduct detailed inspections to identify infestations (or conducive conditions) of wood-destroying organisms or other pests; prepare professional proposals and presentations to secure sales contracts.
Lead Development: Cover assigned sales leads and creatively develop additional service opportunities for each lead furnished.
Operational Precision: Prepare appropriate job specifications and treating instructions in strict accordance with existing laws, regulations, and company policy by ensuring all treatments and documentation comply with NCDA&CS regulations and North Carolina state laws.
Required Qualifications
Licensure: Must hold a North Carolina Structural Pest Control License (Active or Inactive) in Phase P, W, and/or F.
Language Skills: Bilingual (English and Spanish). The ability to communicate effectively with our diverse customer base is essential.
Industry Wisdom: Extensive field experience with a deep understanding of local pest challenges.
Knowledge: Deep familiarity with NC pesticide laws and safety requirements to ensure the company remains in good standing.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay: Negotiable based on your specific experience and license phases. Includes base rate plus performance-based commissions.
Insurance & Security:
Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
Time Off: Paid sick and vacation time, along with 10 company-paid holidays.
Professional Support: We pay for all CCUs, license renewals, and reactivation fees.
Resources & Perks: * Company vehicle, gas card, and all necessary PPE/uniforms provided.
