Angels of Assisi seeking a creative, compassionate and motivated Pet Adoption Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will help match animals with loving homes, educate potential adopters, and ensure a positive adoption experience for both pets and people. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about animal welfare and enjoys working with the public.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist potential adopters in selecting pets that fit their lifestyle and needs

Assess applications and guide adopters through the adoption process

Provide information on pet care, behavior, and transition into a new home

Maintain accurate records of adoptions and animal profiles

Support daily animal care, including feeding, cleaning, and enrichment activities

Collaborate with team members to promote adoption events and outreach programs

Ensure compliance with shelter policies and animal welfare standards

Mandatory Skills:

Knowledge of animal behavior and training techniques

Experience working in shelters, veterinary clinics, or rescue organizations Comfortable with dogs of all sizes

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Standing, walking, bending, and cleaning for extended periods

Handling animals of various sizes and temperaments

Full time position entails 5 days a week, provided shirts, free lunch Mon-Friday, pto and health insurance options. Must be willing to work weekends and some holidays (double time pay for holidays)
