    Position Title: Community Outreach Assistant

    Department : Community Engagement

    Reports to: Outreach & Mobile Manager

    Summary: Daily support to both the outreach team; Provides case management on outreach cases to ensure pets in our community have access to everything they need.; Proactively seeks donations of resources for our clients and their pets.; Maintains the organization and stock of our resource space.

    Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

    • Respond promptly to outreach client inquiries, handle, and resolve client complaints through varying channels of communication including but not limited to telephone, email, and direct face-to-face communication. Answer questions, educate and provide each client with
    • Help train and engage volunteers who sign up for shifts serving the outreach department.
    • Attend and eventually lead each weekend Drive Thru Vaccination clinic. This includes ensuring supplies/vaccines/paperwork are pre-prepped, then Day of loading/driving trucks to event, set up and coordination of our volunteers.
    • Ensuring volunteers have enough available and prepped pet food and supplies for both of our monthly pet food pantries. Leading a pantry event in the absence of our two volunteer leads if necessary. Processing client applications for timely approval onto pet food pantry.
    • Support to our UpLift and KSU outreach partnerships. This may include scheduling clients, loading trucks with necessary supplies and going out on these routes if needed.
    • Provide both administrative and hands on support to the outreach team. Including but not limited to: Picking up large donations of resources; completing welfare checks; outreach patrol; delivering resources; canvassing neighborhoods to distribute event information.
    • Assist in transporting pets to and from their homes to our clinic for spay/neuter surgery and urgent care.
    • Responsible for being an exemplary role model in representing and supporting our core values and competencies.
    • Assist the Outreach team in managing their email inbox, voicemails and any in person client follow up. Help set appointments, schedule food deliveries, field general questions, etc. Provide case management for each client to ensure all needs are met for their pet.
    • Assist in coordination of maintenance, cleaning/upkeep and loading/unloading of our mobile/outreach vehicle fleet.
    • Complete all delegated tasks as assigned and as needed.

    Qualifications:

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to manage priorities and workflow
    • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
    • Must have good driving record and the ability to drive vehicles from a basic van to a large box truck.
    • Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects
    • Ability to work independently and as a member of our larger PRCKC team
    • Good judgment and the ability to make timely and sound decisions
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
    • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.

    Physical Demands and Work Environment

    ● Frequently required to stand, sit, bend, stoop and/or walk.

    ● Occasionally required to lift/push/carry items less than 25 lbs and more than 50 lbs

    ● Frequent exposure to outside weather conditions

    ● Occasional exposure to zoonotic blood borne and airborne pathogens or potentially infectious materials (examples: feline or canine blood, urine or feces, etc.)

    ● Frequent exposure to loud noise (examples: dogs barking, etc.)

    ● Frequently required to use specialized equipment for animal handling/restraint, as well as other specialized equipment such as pallet jacks, handcarts and company vehicles.
