San Diego, CA

  • Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE Less than a year after raising our series B, PetDesk has nearly doubled in size, and the Engineering and Product teams have more than tripled! But with so much left to accomplish by building products for pet care providers and pet parents, we're looking to add a mid-level Fullstack .NET Engineer to join our Consumer team directly building products and apps for pet owners so they can better care for their furry family members. This small but growing team is poised to make a major impact at PetDesk, as we look to become the sole app and source for pet parents to take care of all their pet-related needs. But to accomplish this, we need someone with creativity, a collaborative mindset, and a true passion for helping us realize our vision of generating 10 million additional years of pet life over the next 10 years with the data to prove it. If you geek out over cat and puppy pictures in between writing stellar lines of code seen and used by thousands, if not millions of users, then this is the job for you!

    APPLY IF YOU'RE EXCITED TO:

    • Develop new products, features, and functionality as a part of PetDesk's Consumer team using the latest web technology in ASP.NET MVC, C#, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
    • Assist in product planning and web architecture decisions through collaborative discussions across multiple teams and stakeholders.
    • Create, build, and deploy intuitive and engaging modern web applications through creative technical solutions in the latest technologies, especially as we look to continue modernizing our frontend.
    • Make a major difference in a product that our customers rely on for the life of their business, and that our app users rely on for the life of their pets.

    ABOUT YOU

    • Solid expertise (ideally 3+ years) in fullstack development in the Microsoft stack, including:
      • Front-end programming in HTML5, CSS3, vanilla JavaScript.
      • Middle- and back-end engineering with ASP.NET MVC, Web API, Entity Framework, C#, SQL, and LINQ.
      • Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure is highly preferred.
    • Demonstrable experience developing and deploying complex web applications, ideally in a SaaS environment, as a key contributor throughout the entire development process from conception to launch.
    • Embraces new challenges with a natural curiosity and humility to learn new technologies and development techniques, while advocating for technical changes/upgrades with demonstrable benefits and impact throughout the tech stack.
    • Comfortable with the benefits and complexities of working in a startup—change on the fly doesn't frustrate you, it excites you to deliver!
    • Appreciates participating on a collaborative and tight-knit team in the Scrum process as an enthusiastic driver of optimal efficiency.
