ABOUT THE ROLE In less than half a year, the Engineering team at PetDesk has nearly tripled in size, going from a small scrum team to now multiple product delivery teams. As we continue to scale, we've begun building a newly formed “Shared Services/Platform” team, and are looking for a mid-level Backend .NET Engineer to assist and drive the technical planning and direction of our software products and services. This person will have the opportunity to work with engineering team leaders, product managers, and other stakeholders to implement the essential components and building blocks of our applications, including the design and build of our APIs, services layer, and key data processing workflows. By working across multiple engineering and product teams to design scalable solutions that adhere to industry best practices and patterns, you'll have the chance to truly deliver on our vision of generating 10 million additional years of pet life over the next 10 years - with the data to prove it!

ABOUT YOU

• Effective knowledge and experience (ideally 3+ years) developing service-oriented software in a cloud environment.
• Demonstrable success working in the Microsoft development stack (C#, SQL Server, ASP.NET, Web API).
• Working knowledge building enterprise-scale, service-oriented software systems.
• Experience working with relational and document-based databases, data modeling, SQL querying and tuning, and processing workflows.
• Passionate and self-aware in your ability to improve and adjust in the rapid world of startups, while holding yourself accountable for the success of highly-visible software projects and initiatives.
