Peters' Bakery is a San Jose institution. Opened on April 15th, 1936, Peters' Bakery is the oldest Family owned bakery in the Silicon Valley. Over the years, the bakery has trained more than 100 bakers many of whom went on to establish their own bakeries. As well as having a phenomenal retention rate for employees.

Job Description: As a Baker, some of your duties will include following recipes and makeup procedures while preparing and baking items such as breads, pastries, cakes, cookies, danish, rolls, and doughnuts. You will work with ovens, mixers, slicers, and proofers to bake products that meet the highest quality, freshness, and safety standards. You will assist with cleaning and sanitizing food preparation areas, tools, and equipment. In some areas, you may be required to obtain a food handler's certification.

Qualifications:

• Culinary degree preferred, but not required.
• Two years of baking experience in a retail shop
• Must be able to safely utilize all bakery equipment
• Attention to detail

Responsibilities: **
*** Follow baking schedule

• Practice proper baking procedures
• Understand proper use of all equipment including walk-in refrigerator, mixer, oven, and racks.
• Communicate with others
• Strive for detailed knowledge of product line
• Maintain a clean area. Including washing equipment and accessories.
• Be quick, accurate and organized
• Receive, stock, and store food in designated containers and storage areas in an organized manner
• Perform dishwasher duties as needed
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Be physically able to work an eight hour day or more while on your feet
• Be able to work early morning shifts; start time is based on business needs and may vary from 11PM – 9AM
• Safely lift fifty pounds
• Have ability to perform basic mathematics on the spot
• Show sharp attention to detail
• Ability to Multitask
• Bilingual with Spanish and/or Portuguese is a plus, but not mandatory.

The position is full-time Tue-Sat. Working Fridays and Saturdays is required. The pay rate is $20-$24
