    Petroleum Construction Assistant Foreman Location: Florida (travel as required) Employment Type: Full-Time Reports To: Employment Type: Petroleum Construction Foreman / Project Manager The Petroleum Construction Assistant Foreman supports the Foreman in daily field operations for fuel system and petroleum infrastructure projects. This role helps coordinate crews, maintain safety and quality standards, and ensure work is completed efficiently, on schedule, and in compliance with all regulations. The Assistant Foreman acts as the Foreman’s right hand and assumes leadership responsibilities when the Foreman is off-site. Responsibilities: Field Operations & Crew Support • Assist in supervising daily jobsite activities for petroleum construction projects • Help assign tasks, track crew productivity, and maintain workflow • Step in as acting Foreman when needed • Ensure tools, equipment, and materials are staged and used properly Safety & Compliance • Enforce jobsite safety policies, OSHA requirements, and company procedures • Assist with daily Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and toolbox talks • Monitor compliance with environmental, spill-prevention, and fuel system regulations Quality Control • Help ensure work meets project plans, specs, and industry standards • Monitor installations such as tanks, piping, sumps, dispensers, and canopies • Report issues, deficiencies, or scope changes to the Foreman immediately Coordination & Communication • Serve as a liaison between crew members and the Foreman • Communicate daily progress, delays, or site challenges • Coordinate with subcontractors, inspectors, and vendors as directed Documentation & Reporting • Assist with daily reports, time tracking, and material logs • Document safety incidents, inspections, and corrective actions • Help maintain organized job site records Qualifications: Required Qualifications • 2–5 years of experience in petroleum construction, underground utilities, or heavy civil construction • Working knowledge of fuel system construction (UST/AST, piping, dispensers, sumps, concrete, electrical coordination) • Strong understanding of jobsite safety and OSHA standards • Ability to read plans, layouts, and basic construction drawings • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites Preferred Qualifications • Prior leadership or crew-lead experience • Petroleum-specific certifications (or willingness to obtain) • Experience working around active fueling facilities • Equipment operation experience (excavators, skid steers, lifts, etc.) Skills & Attributes • Strong work ethic and hands-on leadership style • Clear communicator with crew and management • Detail-oriented with a focus on safety and quality • Reliable, organized, and solution-driven • Ability to work in outdoor, physically demanding environments Physical Requirements • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs • Ability to work in trenches, confined spaces, and varying weather conditions • Extended periods of standing, walking, bending, and climbing Compensation: $25 - $30 hourly
