Job Description

The Content Writer, SEO will be responsible for writing compelling digital copy for a variety of mediums. This position will work closely with the Digital team to create copy that increases organic traffic and keyword rankings, while also positioning the brand as an authoritative source in the cannabis industry.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OR (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

• Work with Digital team to develop content strategies using search trends and keyword research

• Communicate complex topics in ways that are relatable and understandable

• Write copy that drives conversions, improves click-through rates, and increases keyword rankings

• Working closely with digital, brand, and creative teams to align your copy ideas/suggestions with their objectives

• Collaborating with marketing leaders to ensure customer-facing copy is consistent with our brand voice

• Auditing existing copy to ensure consistency with brand voice and 

• Excellent ability to adapt the brand’s voice and tone to deliver on messaging goals throughout the funnel in external communications

• Proactively manage and meet deadlines across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to turn complex concepts into clear, conversational copy for various digital marketing channels
• An interactive and feedback-driven approach to writing and editing copy
• Desire to contribute to the digital marketing team’s overall strategy, rapidly ideating on strategic marketing concepts while keeping an eye on details
• Thorough online research skills, including advanced use of search engines
• Demonstrated problem solving and project management skills
• Self-starter who is able to work independently while still meeting deadlines

Qualification

·        5 years experience producing copy for digital platforms and interfaces (and a portfolio of work)

• Experience using tech to collaborate, like Google Docs and Sheets
• Familiarity with Google Analytics, SEMRush, web updates via a CMS
• Ecommerce and retail experience is a plus
