Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and scientifically driven Analytical Scientist to support extractables and leachables (E&L) testing for pharmaceutical manufacturing. This role involves advanced analytical instrumentation (GC-MS, LC-MS, ICP-MS), rigorous data analysis, and a strong focus on authoring high-quality technical documentation to support regulatory compliance and client deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct E&L testing using GC-MS, LC-MS, and/or ICP-MS in a GMP-regulated laboratory environment.
• Compile, analyze, and interpret complex analytical data to assess product safety and compliance.
• Author clear, concise, and scientifically sound technical reports and summary documents that communicate findings to internal teams and external clients.
• Review and verify test results for accuracy and adherence to regulatory standards; document and escalate any anomalies.
• Maintain meticulous records in accordance with cGxP standards, including good documentation practices (GDP).
• Calibrate and verify instrumentation prior to use; troubleshoot equipment and analytical methods as needed.
• Support method development and validation activities, contributing to protocol creation and documentation.
• Participate in training activities as both a learner and mentor, with a focus on documentation best practices.
• Maintain laboratory supplies, safety protocols, and compliance with internal and external standards.
• Collaborate professionally with vendors and cross-functional teams to support project goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline with 2+ years of industry experience, or a Master’s degree with relevant experience.
• Hands-on experience with GC-MS, LC-MS, and/or ICP-MS instrumentation.
• Demonstrated experience operating in a GMP-compliant laboratory.
• Proven ability to write and review detailed technical documents , including analytical reports, protocols, and summaries.
• Strong organizational and computer skills; experience with electronic laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
• Authorized to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Additional Details:

The position is full-time, first shift, Monday-Friday from 8am-4:30pm. Candidates must be flexible to adapt to schedule changes requiring shift changes and/or weekend work, and overtime may be required as needed. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Rensselaer, New York, are encouraged to apply.
