    The Suffolk Public Schools’ Health Pharmacy, powered by On-Site Rx, has an exciting opportunity for a dependable and caring pharmacist to work in Suffolk, Virginia. The position is considered part-time and will average up to 20 hours per week with occasional increased hours to cover vacations and perform patient outreach.

    The pharmacy is open Monday - Friday, 9:30am – 6:00pm and Saturday 9:00am – 12pm. The pharmacy closes each weekday for lunch, from 1:30 – 2pm. Our distinctive work environment comes with opportunity for career growth and development with hours that support a healthy work – life balance.

    On-Site Rx pharmacies offer a unique and innovative setting. We provide closed door pharmacy services for self-insured employers which means we will only be servicing Suffolk Public School employees and their dependents. The setting is similar in feel and operation to an independent retail pharmacy, but no outside insurance coverage is accepted – meaning issues with insurance carriers are limited.

    • Ability to work well within a pharmacy team serving a diverse patient population
    • Current Virginia pharmacist license without restriction or history of disciplinary action
    • Must pass a background check and have a negative drug screen

    Work is primarily conducted in a retail pharmacy setting, which may include standing for extended periods. Exposure to various medications and healthcare equipment. Interaction with patients and healthcare professionals. Ability to lift and carry boxes or containers of medications and supplies (up to 25 pounds). Manual dexterity for handling medication containers, labels, and pharmacy equipment. Visual acuity for reading small print on prescription labels and using computer screens.
