    Full-time (Contract)
    Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
    Excludes Federal holidays
    40 hours/week

    About the Role

    The Federal Bureau of Prisons is seeking a qualified Pharmacist to provide onsite services at FCI Greenville and FPC. The role involves direct collaboration with medical staff and independent decision-making in pharmacy operations.

    Responsibilities

    • Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy and safety
    • Monitor drug therapy for contraindications, interactions, and allergies
    • Maintain and update patient medication records and profiles
    • Dispense and store medications using proper techniques
    • Conduct inventory checks and ensure proper drug rotation and storage
    • Provide drug information and consultation to medical staff
    • Investigate and report adverse drug reactions (ADR)
    • Ensure compliance with federal healthcare standards (JCAHO, DEA, FDA, BOP)
    • Report rule infractions by adults in custody to appropriate authorities

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 1 year of experience as a licensed pharmacist
    • Active Pharmacist License from any state
    • Graduate of an accredited pharmacy school or program
    • Current CPR certification (American Red Cross or American Heart Association)
    • Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English
    • Must be free of infectious diseases and meet employee health requirements

    Additional Details

    • All supplies and equipment provided by the institution
    • Contractor will not supervise inmates or staff
    • Frequent unsupervised contact with adults in custody
    • Independent contractor status (not a federal employee)
    • Services may be subject to delays due to institutional operations
