Time will be split between the Morristown, NJ Home Office / Remote.Job Purpose: This internship is an exciting opportunity based at the Pharmacosmos Therapeutics Morristown office providing operational support to the Medical Affairs team for the implementation of Medical Affairs activities within the Hematology therapeutic area. As a result of the internship, the individual will gain first-hand experience in Medical Affairs as well as a high-level overview of the pharmaceutical industry. This role will report into the Medical Director, Medical Affairs and is expected to be hybrid-based (both in office & remote).Over the course of 9 weeks, the intern will work in close collaboration with members of the Medical Affairs team across three core functions: Strategic Planning, Medical Information, and Field Medical Excellence and Training. The intern will work on a range of projects to achieve the learning objectives and deliverables, while learning about Iron Deficiency Anemia and Intravenous Iron. Projects will be hands on and involve cross-functional collaboration. The individual will be expected to apply organizational and analytical skills to both day-to-day operations and innovative medical projects. Job Responsibilities: Overall Learning ObjectiveAs a result of this internship, the individual will understand the Medical Affairs function within a growing pharmaceutical company and understand the iron deficiency anemia therapeutic landscape. Specific Learning ObjectivesGain a general therapeutic knowledge of iron deficiency anemia and PTI product information Learn how to gather and maintain competitive intelligence of current and upcoming drug products in a therapeutic area. Understand various aspects of medical communications and assist with the creation of an educational tool for the Medical Affairs teamLearn how to partner with field medical/commercial colleagues and assist with the development of HCP education and internal training materials Learn how to perform data analyses, data capture, and metric reporting to identify actionable insightsDevelop an understanding of the roles and structure of a pharmaceutical company by shadowing and/or meeting colleagues within medical affairs and across the PTI organization (e.g., sales, marketing, market access, drug safety, etc.) Complete 1-2 large projects that will aid and assist Medical Affairs and provide a presentation on overall learnings. QualificationsLegally authorized to work in the US.Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university Doctor of Pharmacy program with at least a 3.0 overall GPA and entering either the P3 or P4 year in the fall. Strong interest in considering pharmaceutical industry as a potential career pathDemonstrated ability researching primary literature and/or involvement in journal clubs.
