Position Overview:
As a Pharmacy Customer Service Representative in the front store, you will play a vital role in creating a positive and efficient experience for customers seeking prescription and over-the-counter medications. You will be the first point of contact for customers entering the pharmacy department, assisting them with a variety of needs, and ensuring smooth operations between the pharmacy and the front store. Your role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a customer-first attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Assistance: Greet customers and assist them with general inquiries regarding pharmacy products and services, including prescription refills, over-the-counter medications, and health & wellness items.
Prescription Order Management: Assist customers with prescription pick-up, ensuring proper handling, verifying accuracy, and ensuring the customer receives their medications in a timely manner.
Inventory Management: Maintain stock levels of over-the-counter medications and other pharmacy-related products, ensuring shelves are stocked and organized. Assist with the ordering and receiving of products as needed.
Cashiering and Payment Processing: Process customer payments for pharmacy services and products, including insurance verifications and co-payment handling, while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Collaboration with Pharmacy Staff: Coordinate with pharmacy technicians and pharmacists to ensure customers' needs are met efficiently. Assist with patient counseling when appropriate.
Maintain Cleanliness and Safety: Ensure the front store and pharmacy area remain clean, well-organized, and compliant with safety standards, including proper handling of medications and hazardous materials.
Handle Customer Concerns: Address customer concerns or complaints with professionalism and care, escalating issues to the Pharmacy Manager or Store Manager when necessary.
Confidentiality: Ensure strict confidentiality in handling patient information and adhere to all HIPAA and privacy regulations.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with a diverse customer base.
Attention to detail and accuracy in processing orders, prescriptions, and payments.
Basic computer skills and experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Ability to lift up to [50] pounds, as required for inventory management.
