Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and dispense prescriptions and over-the-counter medications by accurately entering prescription data into computer systems, verifying accuracy and completeness, and ensuring patient safety and regulatory compliance under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.
• Handle billing, insurance verification, claims processing, and payment collection with meticulous attention to detail while maintaining comprehensive file organization and records management in accordance with all applicable regulations.
• Maintain stocking, storage, and labeling of inventory to the highest standards while adhering to strict pharmacy safety and organizational protocols.
• Communicate professionally and courteously with patients and the public while maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. Assist pharmacists with medication counseling preparation and promptly escalate any discrepancies or compliance concerns to ensure patient safety.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. Minimum of six (6) months of retail pharmacy experience preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Requires valid State of Michigan Pharmacy Technician license.
