We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to work on Thursday evenings from 7 pm -10 pm* during our Thursday evening Acute/Primary Care clinic. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our pharmacists in delivering an exceptional level of care to our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include the preparation and dispensing of medications, maintaining accurate patient records, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.

Job Summary / Highlights

Orients new volunteer Pharmacists and volunteer Pharmacy Technicians to our pharmacy

Presents a welcoming and patient-focused approach in all interactions

Enters prescriptions & refill requests into Computer RX, our pharmacy software system

Prints the prescription labels & assisting with the filling of prescriptions in the order in which they are received

Assists as a Spanish interpreter for the Pharmacist during counseling sessions & medication pick up process (as needed)

Assists with medication & OTC inventory including ordering necessary medications, return to stock of unclaimed prescriptions, putting up new orders as they come in _(scanning for inventory control & reconciling against invoice to ensure complete orders), _pulling expired medications from shelf and completing Return Authorization forms for donated medication

Stocks RX vials

Closes & secures the pharmacy after clinic session ( running evening reports, filing paper prescriptions, ensuring pharmacy is left clean & tidy and locking up pharmacy)

Ability to cover other pharmacy shifts if necessary (Mon, Tues, 3 rd Wed from 7pm – 10pm)

Other duties as assigned by Pharmacist in Charge or the Clinical Operations Manager

Qualifications: Required Education / Experience / Skills

Licensed Pharmacy Technician by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy

MUST BE BILINGUAL IN SPANISH (written & spoken)

Minimum 1 year experience as a Pharmacy Technician

Strong Computer & Data Entry skills

Good communication skills

Ability to work & maintain professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment

1 to 2 years as volunteer in VHC Pharmacy helpful
