    Are you a recent law school graduate, studying for the bar, and looking to work with an experienced trial lawyer in West Tennessee? If so, we are looking for you! Our firm is hiring an entry-level attorney who will assist in all aspects of criminal casework and client care. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated interest in trial practice. If you’re ready to jump-start your growth in the practice of law and learn how to develop cases from inception to jury selection, reach out to us today! Daily duties will include drafting and filing routine motions, reviewing discovery including DUI videos, attending court appearances, conducting field investigations, interviewing witnesses, and documenting case files. Before you apply, you should know: We’re not like other firms. You will adhere to high expectations for professionalism, five-star client service, team-based casework, creative problem-solving, and meticulous, process-oriented workflows. We will give you the support and resources to meet our high standards. Your bar fees, professional privilege tax, and annual CLE requirements will be covered. Your development in handling larger and more serious cases will be encouraged. Our goal for you is to become a self-sufficient trial lawyer capable of first-chairing the most serious trials while also growing in your leadership skills to help associates who come behind you. All that said, our firm is still a work in progress. Phil launched his firm in August 2023 with an ambition to become one of the best firms in the region for defending regular people when facing the weight of the government against their rights and liberties. As a startup firm, we will also need your help in developing best practices for training the team members we hire after you. Your start date could be as early as August (after you have completed the bar exam) and your compensation will start at $51,600. After you've passed the bar and completed a 90-day probationary period, your compensation will increase to $67,200 as a licensed attorney. At your six-month performance review, if your employment continues with our firm, your compensation will raise to $74,400 and future raises will be based on performance. Responsibilities: • Attend court proceedings, draft motions, and assist in preparing for preliminary hearings. • Assess criminal cases to determine potential sentencing outcomes and devise defense strategies. • Maintain well-organized digital files to facilitate collaborative legal service delivery and client communication. • Follow internal law firm protocols to uphold consistent and exceptional client service standards. • Contribute to the enhancement and implementation of systems, processes, and checklists in a progressive law firm focused on team-oriented, client-centric representation.
