Job Description
We are looking for someone with 2 or more years of income tax preparation experience. College degree or CPA/EA licensure is not required, but is favored. Strong skills with Lacerte Tax by Intuit, QuickBooks, and Sage 50 would be essential to succeed at this job. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary. While the primary duties of this job are to aide with income tax preparation the scope is not limited to just income tax, especially if you are interested in learning and growing.
Job Duties:
1. Aide with preparing individual, business, not-for-profit, and estate/trust tax returns by
a. copying and organizing data and documents provided by clients
b. sometimes making entries into accounting software to build tax trial balances
c. entering data into tax software
d. thinking critically about the tax return and performing due diligence
2. Interacting with clients via phone, emails, and face-to-face
3. Various administrative tasks
4. As interested/available - bookkeeping, payroll tax compliance, and financial statement preparations for business clients

We have an extremely busy season from January through April, in which we all work significantly more than 40 hours per week. But, then the other 8 months are slow enough to provide many Fridays off and opportunities for vacations.
