    ​PHILLIPS ACCOUNTANCY CORPORATION, A CPA FIRM SPECIALIZING IN THE DENTAL PROFESSION AND LOCATED IN CENTRAL ORANGE COUNTY, HAS AN IMMEDIATE OPENING FOR A FULL-TIME JUNIOR STAFF ACCOUNTANT.

    Candidates with professional office experience in any capacity are strongly preferred, however, we will consider those candidates without office experience as well. What we are really looking for is a motivated, energetic accountant to fill this position. Candidates should be comfortable with all aspects of accounting and have attained a bachelor's degree in Accounting or be nearing graduation with an Accounting degree. The ideal candidate takes ownership and initiative, is responsive to management, is responsible and accurate, and is proactive. You will need to be able to work well under pressure and be able to manage your own time in order to meet deadlines. On those occasions where perhaps you're not able to meet the deadline, you need to be able to recognize the problem, speak up, and ask for help.

    Our staff accountants are expected to maintain an assigned portfolio of clients, each month preparing journal entries, reconciling bank accounts and credit card/loan balances, compiling reports, and generating financial statements such as the Balance Sheet and P&L. Direct client interaction will take place multiple times a day through email or by phone. For as long as you remain a Jr. Staff Accountant, you will have a trainer walking you through every step of your job. In addition to your trainer, all Staff Accountants are welcome to ask a Senior Staff Accountant any questions that arise. 

    While this is very much an entry-level position, your time as a Jr. Staff Accountant should be somewhat limited. We fully expect Junior Staff Accountants to advance to Staff Accountant (to include a significant pay raise) within 8-12 months of hire as we are looking for long-term employees who are interested in continued growth. Beyond Staff Accountant, possible growth opportunities include Senior Staff Accountant, Tax Accountant, and even Accounting Manager. If you're looking to become a CPA or EA, even an eventual Partnership in the firm is not out of the question. 

    Compensation is negotiable depending on experience. Our benefits for full-time staff include:

    Although we are located in a high-rise building full of people in suits, our office atmosphere is casual, and the dress code here is business casual every day. We provide healthy (and not-so-healthy) snacks for our employees, along with coffee and other beverages. Our office building features a delicious onsite café, but during tax season, we like to occasionally have lunch delivered to the office for the whole team. Outside of tax season, we prefer to go out to lunch together when our schedules align.

    Our clients are primarily dental professionals who often require lots of personal attention; therefore, excellent communication skills are essential.
